Valkyrie’s Leah Wald to Join Canadian Crypto Fund as CEO

Leah Wald, the former chief executive officer of Valkyrie Investments Inc., has left after four years at the firm she co-founded to helm a Canadian-listed crypto fund.

Wald will take over as CEO and president of Cypherpunk Holdings Inc., a Toronto-headquartered company focused on investing in Bitcoin, privacy-related cryptocurrencies and companies, she said in an interview. Cypherpunk (ticker HODL) had a market capitalization of C$17 million ($12.5 million) at the market close on Monday and has approximately C$28 million in assets under management, according to a May regulatory filing.
