Sberbank expects to conduct pilot settlements in cryptocurrency within foreign economic activity by end of 2024
MOSCOW. Nov 13 (Interfax) - Sberbank expects to conduct the first pilot settlements in cryptocurrency by the end of this year as part of foreign economic activity, Deputy Executive Board Chairman Anatoly Popov told reporters.
"The nuances of the experimental legal regime are currently being finalized, and our team is of course participating in the discussion. We understand the importance of using settlements, and using stable coins or cryptocurrencies for foreign economic activity. We are even currently developing the nuances of the regulation with the Central Bank of Russia, and we expect to render the first transactions before the New Year," Popov said on the sidelines of the Sberbank blockchain conference.
